Dear Fall Spectators,
As we enter the first activities of the 2020-21 school year, I felt it was important to share with you some new guidelines and procedures aimed at trying to ensure the safety, health and wellness of our students, staff, and guests. We want to do everything possible to help provide our teams the opportunity to play the entire season and not have their seasons put in jeopardy for health reasons. I’m sure that all of our families and spectators would appreciate full seasons as well.
The Clarke Activities Department, along with protocols from the IHSAA/IGHSAU and collaboration with the Clarke County Public Health, has created guidelines for our fall sport seasons. With your cooperation in ensuring that these guidelines are followed, we can create a safe environment for everyone. As the season progresses, these guidelines are subject to change according to the current situation at that time.
Clarke will open up its fall sports season by hosting Southeast Valley in a Varsity Football game this Friday night. The Varsity Volleyball team hosts a double triangular Saturday morning.
Below are the guidelines for each sport and admissions. Cross Country will be sent out later.
Volleyball
All spectators are required to wear a mask during the entire contest. The first two rows of the bleachers will not be used by any spectators in the HS gym, but can be used in the MS gym. Spectators are expected to leave immediately following the conclusion of the game. PK-5 students must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. PK-5 students are the responsibility of that adult and should remain seated next to them during the entire game. Students who are away from their seats may be asked to leave.
Football
We will have two separate lines for entering the football/track complex. The Clarke fans will use the two windows on the north side of the ticket booth. Our guests will use the window on the south side. The single set of bleachers on the home side will NOT be set-aside for Elementary and Middle School students this year. It can be used by any adults, with or without the student they are supervising. Spectators are strongly encouraged to wear a mask when social distancing cannot be maintained.
